HP has announced a new Windows 8 based ElitePad 900 tablet. The tablet running on the latest operating system features a body having 10.1 inch diagonal IPS display screen with Gorilla Glass coating atop and 1280×800 pixels of resolution, weighing 0.68 kg and 0.92mm of thinness. The tablet announced is expected to launch in the beginning of next year i.e. in January 2013. Powered by Intel’s Clover Trail Atom SoC processor is designed keeping in mind the needs of professionals and their business.
The memory configuration of the tablet defined by HP is 2GB RAM with a variation of 32GB or 64GB SSD (Solid State Drive). It has an 8MP camera featuring LED Flash and CyberLink YouCam software with a 1080 p front facing video camera too for video calling. The tablet has two different Smart Jackets: Productivity Jacket with integrated keyboard, connectivity ports, SD card reader & adjustable viewing angles and Expansion Jacket with USB, HDMI and microSD card ports. The device has an ultra slim battery offering a longer battery life of 10 to 18 hours to the users.
Other features included are NFC & support, in-built Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G/4G network connectivity etc. As told by the officials of the company the new Windows 8 tablet will be loaded with some more intellectual properties that will be revealed with the price during the launch of the tablet.
