Nokia Xpress Beta App For Lumia Smart-phones

Nokia has been doing an experiment a new Nokia browser on its new S40 range smart-phone that will compress the data being received on your smart-phone to reduce the consumption of data resulting in a better battery life of the device in a single charge and this technology has been named Nokia Xpress (with a beta tag) by Nokia. Other than S40 devices this technology was loaded in the Asha series of Nokia as well.

 

The new Nokia Xpress for Lumia smart-phones will work with the cloud services to give users a device that will consume less data and ultimately delivers a fast and efficient performance of the device. Also to deliver a better browsing experience to the users Nokia Xpress browser offers features and specification that are listed below.

 

  • The application offers a beautiful magazine layout to the users that give a pleasurable reading experience of web based content.
  • The user while reading can an article can search for any word on Bing, Youtube and Wikipedia by simply tapping on it.
  • To read the articles or content written in any language the user can select the language translation mode to translate the web content into desired language. This feature is very helpful for travelers to read the local information.
  • The application has a QuickLinks feature that lets users save the links of websites and pages that can be read later in offline mode. The best part is the pages saved are organized according to the frequency of visits made.
  • The application integrated with SkyDrive gives users a chance to download web content or videos on your SkyDrive account without extra data being consumed. The data saved on SkyDrive can later be used on any device.

 

The application is not very useful for users having a consumption of 2 to 5GB of data, but for users having a premium data rates or those who need internet access on international roaming, for them this application is worthy to be used. The browser based application has been launched on Asha devices with the announcement of a new GPS based Nokia NearBy Web app, but news and information related to the release of application on Lumia smart-phones has not been unveiled.
