Microsoft has launched its giant music service Xbox Music on Windows 8. The service will be available on all Windows 8 based devices (tablets and PC’s) by default from October 26 i.e. after the launch of the upcoming platform. This is a default service that will let the users’ stream music over web for free and also create custom playlists online for first six months with occasional ads in between. It has ad free version too that is available on monthly subscription basis for $9.99.
This new world of digital music will be availed very soon for Windows Phone 8 based smart-phones too and later Microsoft is planning to launch its version for Android and IOS as well till next year, although this service will not be availed for Windows 7 users. Microsoft with its Xbox music service is planning to give a strong competition in music world to all leading services like iTunes, Spotify and Pandora with its library of 30 million tracks.
Right now a 30 day trial version is being introduced for all the Xbox users all around the globe from this Tuesday to make them known to the service before its official availability. Later from October 26 the service will be available for free in 15 countries all over the globe and premium service known as Xbox Music Pass will be availed in 22 countries for Windows 8 as well as Windows Phone 8 users.
