Nokia Drive 3.0 released as firmware update 3.0.0.2978, My Commute Feature added

Nokia’s satellite navigation app, Nokia Drive 3.0 has been released and made available to the Windows Phone market place for Nokia devices. Nokia Drive 3.0 is released as a Nokia Drive 3.0.0.2978 firmware update, which includes some noticeable updates and My Commute is the most effective feature added to it.

My Commute feature has got the capability to learn your driving preferences, it uses the track of traffic conditions and helps you to choose between different routes. My Commute, tracks the route you used to drive daily, checks the clarity of route through live traffic  updates and suggests the best route to drive through. US is the first country chosen for My commute services and will be available in other countries very soon (not yet confirmed).

Other than My Commute, Nokia 3.0.0.2978 firmware update includes Automatic day and night mode, Favorite places, and the capability to pin different destinations to your phone’s Start Screen.

Automatic day/night mode is for best visibility of the App in your windows phone device, This feature automatically detects day or night and adjusts display settings of your device  for optimized viewing.

While Pin to start feature enables you to pin your journey to your start screen and you will be able to start your predefined journey with just a tap at your home screen.

Nokia drive’s Favorite places feature includes the addition of your favorite place to the app, that sets the journey for these places and gives you the convenience to start your journey from your favorites and with pinning these favorites you can start a run instantly from your start screen. A small drawback of this feature is its incapability to sync local/online with Nokia Maps so you have to set separate favorites for Nokia Map and Nokia Drive.

Internet Sharing :

The Play To application for your Nokia Lumia allows you to broadcast photos, music, and videos over Wi-Fi, to other DLNA capable devices connected to the same network like TVs, Blu-ray players, and Music Systems with Microsoft Windows Media Player for Windows 7.

How To Update:

You can get this update by connecting your phone to your computer with the USB cable and starting the “Zune software” on a PC or “Windows Phone 7 connector” for Mac. This software update is available during June and July 2012 and will be rolled out around the globe by the end of July. These applications will only be available for your Nokia Lumia 800 and Nokia Lumia 710 unless you have installed the new Windows Phone 7.5 software update.

Awesome Phone, Super Stylish, amazingly Powerful and I think it should be your  status symbol among your friends at this tme. But are you facing some data connectivity related issues? your connectivity sometimes suddenly goes low? connection gets lost?

“Windows and Nokia Goes Dual core”

It has been five to six month in launch of  Nokia Lumia and It has done a market of around 3 million units, Stats are quite impressive but not good enough to beat its rival Samsung Galaxy, HTC and Apple.  Customers are quite satisfied with the Lumia but its said that it can get better business in market, if upgraded with the specifications comparable to their rivals, because Lumia still comes with the single core processor, while Samsung and HTC & Apple are much more advanced with its dual and quad core processors. So according to the latest discussions it is revealed that Nokia is going to upgrade its Lumia with a dual core Snapdragon S4 CPU and it will be running on Windows Phone 8 Operating system.

Qualcomm’s  Snapdragon S4 dual core CPU has been officially chosen to be certified to run on Windows Phone 8. With the upgraded Nokia Lumia it will be the first Windows phone to be with dual core processor.

As per the popularity, Nokia is always a major and this upgradation will surely going to  help the market value of Lumia and might be able to change the stats in the smartphone market.
